Restorative Dentistry 1 - DENT6386

This unit provides further training for postgraduate students in clinical, procedural and evidence-based information on advanced restorative dentistry. Seminars on a broad range of dental topics are given to underpin the decision tree to develop complex restorative treatment plans including implant supported prosthodontics. Specifically endodontic and periodontal mangement will be reviewed in light of the current literature as an adjunct to treatment planning.

2x10day blocks (8am-5pm), clinical and laboratory sessions, small group seminars, journal club discussion, self-directed learning

Theory Papers (30%); Case Presentation (10%); Viva Voce (15%); Research Presentation (10%); Literature Review (10%); Implant Assignment (10%); Continuous Sessional Assessment (10%); Logbook (5%).

A recommended reading and text book list is provided for this unit in class.

Comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of General Dentistry, particularly in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Rehabilitation
