Graduates of the Master of Environmental Science will:

1 Apply expert theoretical knowledge and an integrated understanding of environmental science to interpret current environmental problems.
2 Investigate, critically evaluate and synthesise complex information on environmental problems, concepts and theories, identifying the required areas of expertise to address the problem.
3 Apply advanced research principles and skills to interpret existing data and formulate and test research hypotheses to address novel environmental science problems.
4 Critically evaluate the validity and quality of information sources relevant to environmental science and identify knowledge gaps.
5 Interpret the significance and scope of ethical principles and apply these principles in environmental science.
6 Demonstrate creativity and initiative when addressing novel environmental problems, using expert disciplinary knowledge and judgement with strong personal autonomy and accountability.
7 Justify, interpret and effectively communicate expert disciplinary knowledge, technical research findings and evidence-based solutions to environmental science problems in written, visual and oral modes of communication, to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
8 Work effectively and responsibly in an individual context and within diverse interdisciplinary teams.
