As part of the Matilda Centre’s commitment to our values of scientific rigour, integrity and innovation, we are pleased to announce that our 2025 Annual Report is now publicly available.

The full annual report, available for download below, covers the activities, research, and initiatives spearheaded by the Matilda Centre throughout 2025 across the fields of mental health and substance use research.

2025 was a year of increasing challenges. Escalating climate pressures, uncertainty in research funding, heightened global instability and social disruption, and increasing rates of poor mental health, underscored the urgency for evidence-based, scalable solutions for poor mental health and substance use.

Against this backdrop, the Matilda Centre delivered research with significant real-world impact. For example, a landmark vaping prevention trial run by the Matilda Centre demonstrated a 65% reduction in intentions to vape among young people. This program is now being scaled nationally through the OurFutures Institute to all secondary schools across Australia.
