The Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Honours) can be completed after meeting the requirements of the 3-year specialist degree and the progression requirements for Honours.
Students are required to complete 24 credit points of coursework and a 24 credit point research project completed under the direction of a supervisor who is an expert in the selected topic and who guides the research throughout the year. The research project centres around an essay/thesis written on a specialised topic from your chosen area. As part of the project, students deliver a presentation to staff members and fellow students.
Honours is available to students who have a completed major in an area relevant to their project and have met the requirements outlined in the resolutions. Admittance into the program is determined by the Faculty of Science as well as the honours coordinator for the corresponding subject area.
Requirements and units of study for Honours can be found on the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Honours) course resolutions. Read how to apply for honours as a current student.
