It's your responsibility as a student to understand the rules and requirements that apply to you so that you can successfully complete your course and go on to graduate. Make sure you're familiar with these as you start planning your studies.
Your handbook is the starting point when planning your course and making decisions.
It explains the requirements of your course, the units you’ll study, credit points, and more. Refer back to your handbook regularly throughout your studies, especially when selecting units during each enrolment period.
Unit outlines help you understand what you will study, how you will learn, and the way in which you’ll be assessed in a particular unit of study.
Outlines also list the rules you'll need to meet to be able to enrol in the unit.
Course resolutions contain detailed rules impacting your degree. This can include weighted average mark, applying for credit, entry into honours, overseas study and more.
You'll find course resolutions as a section of your handbook.
Faculty resolutions are similar to course resolutions, however they contain rules that apply to all students in your faculty, not just in your course.
You'll find the resolutions of your faculty or school in the University's Policy Register.
In addition to the information in your handbook, you should be familiar with the University by-laws, rules, policies and resolutions applicable to your circumstances. You can find a list of these in your handbook.
