The candidates for the election of one Undergraduate Student Fellow of Senate by and from the Students at the University are:
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
As an active Australian Army Reservist and a proud USYD student, I take pride inn serving the communities I belong to. By voting for me as your undergraduate senator, you can be sure you are being well served and represented.
I would be honoured to represent you as a senator, and will strive to deliver results; holding both myself and the university to the highest standards of accountability, honesty, and transparency.
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
My name is Miesha, and I am running for the position of undergraduate student Fellow of Senate with a commitment to enhancing communicating between the student body and the Senate. My focus will be on improving welfare across academic, social, psychological and opportunity dimensions, ensuring that every student has the support and resources needed to thrive. I believe that representative governance is rooted in understanding and addressing the needs and concerns of students.
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
As an engaged and passionate leader within the USYD community, I am thrilled to apply for the Senate Fellow role. Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of representing students as a Senate representative for Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness, leading State Champion teams as President of the Cheerleading Society as well as being a producer at the Dramatic Society. These experiences have fuelled my commitment to amplifying student voices and fostering positive change. As Senate Fellow, I will bring high energy, and dedication to making our university a more inclusive, forward-thinking, and vibrant space for all.
Sydney Conservatorium of Music
The continued corporatisation and historical-concealment of our university has seen our community burdened with convoluted systems to navigate, degraded education experience, staff overwork, and reduced representation. We need to refocus the University's strategy away from profit and back to the quality education and research by which this public-institution was known; whilst ensuring active steps are taken to reconcile our role in colonisation as the country's oldest university.
As the only undergraduate at the University with leadership experience in all levels of study and governance, I am the only candidate who can effectively push for the progress needed at our university.
Sydney Law School
I am a 6th-year law student, having also completed an engineering degree with First Class Honours. My diverse academic background has provided me with a unique perspective on problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership. Throughout my time at university, I have actively contributed to various academic and extracurricular initiatives, consistently demonstrating a commitment to excellence and community engagement. As a nominee for the University Senate, I aim to bring a balanced, multidisciplinary approach to decision-making, ensuring that student voices are heard, and that the university continues to foster an inclusive, innovative environment for all.

USyd charges us skyhigh fees, burdening us with mountains of debt during a cost of living crisis
What do we get though? Recycled lectures, poor response times from University Administration, and a cold student experience.
YOU deserve to be more than a cash cow for management, and Im not afraid to call them out.
Lets fix the student experience together.
It means fighting for Simple Extensions, as I HAVE SAVED IT BEFORE and FIGHTING for the rights of International Students.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
The University of Sydney must expand the value and number of MySydney scholarships and make the revival of campus culture an objective of the university as a whole, not just the USU. I am running because the USyd Senate has the power to make these changes, but it won’t unless we elect an effective undergraduate representative actually willing to fight for them. We have the opportunity to make a real, lasting difference – let’s not waste it. Vote #1 Ned Graham for Undergraduate Student Fellow of the Senate.
Faculty of Engineering
I am an engineering and science student, and I have volunteered at SYNCS for 3 years as Treasurer and previously as Systems Administrator. I am also employed as a casual tutor for the University. I have experienced both sides of the classroom and been heavily involved with the student community over my degree. I aim to improve the student experience in measurable ways. Towards this goal I will coordinate with student representative bodies such as the USU, the SRC, and members of the Academic and Faculty boards to investigate and respond to current student issues.
The candidates for the election of one Postgraduate Student Fellow of Senate by and from the Students at the University are:
University of Sydney Business School
As a dedicated advocate for a more connected, compassionate, and accessible campus, I am seeking re-election to further strengthen the sense of belonging for all members of the University community.
As the only candidate who has served in all key student organizations-SRC, USU, SUPRA-I led over 20 successful campaigns in the past 8 years, represented student body in major University decision-making and driven changes in cultural diversity, inclusion, and sustainability.
A second term would enable me to deepen our collective efforts towards more affordable student accommodations and food, diminish placement poverty, and enhance support for research and international students. #BennyficialForUSYDSenate
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
As SUPRA President from 2022 to 2024, I directly supported over 3,500 students, ensuring their voices were heard in the fight for postgraduate rights. I led major campaigns: celebrating USyd's centenary of international students, securing transport concessions for all NSW students, removing the HDR 485 visa age cap, and introducing flexible graduation dates to assist job seekers in China. Now running for Senate, I plan to establish a $10 hot lunch buffet dining hall, secure on¬campus housing for first-semester students, maintain a 5-day simple assignment extension, increase international student career fairs, and enhance internship program enrollments.

The university administration doesn’t care about YOU.
We are charged the maximum allowable student fees each Semester. $$$
What do we get in return? Recycled or poorly recorded lectures, poor response times for special considerations, and the threat of losing simple extensions.
The university website claims it supports “progressive thinking, breaking with convention, challenging the status quo…” What does this consultant spin even mean? It’s rubbish.
YOU deserve to be more than a cash cow for management, and I’m not afraid to call them out. Let’s fix things together.

Attending this University is a privilege, but the value students receive from this experience should match the cost and time it takes to complete their studies. In the face of reduced revenue due to federal student caps, advocacy for a high-quality student experience is more important now than ever. I will advocate for a postgraduate experience that is differentiated, empowering, well-designed, and focused on preparing students for professional endeavours whether they be further academic pursuit or entering the workforce. To best represent you, I want to hear from you, please reach out or find me frequently studying in The Quarter!
