27 February 2017
Real talk with our LGBTIQ students and staff

What is the difference between being queer, gay or lesbian? Aren't they all about same-sex relationships? Students and staff from the University of Sydney's LGBTIQ community answer questions some are too afraid to ask.

Ahead of this year’s Mardi Gras festival, seven volunteers from the University’s LGBTIQ community came together to answer anonymous questions few would feel comfortable asking in person.

Two undergraduates, a postgraduate student, a history PhD candidate and three staff members arrived at Maclaurin Hall not knowing what to expect. With a shuffled deck of questions and cameras rolling, we were able to unearth some truly candid insisghts about life in the LGBTIQ community and personal experiences with coming out.
