Foot muscle measures of strength and cross-sectional area by ultrasound in the Diabetic Population: a clinical trial

We are conducting a research study about foot muscles in patients with diabetes, to see whether ultrasound can identify any changes to the muscles, such as shrinkage, in the feet.

We also aim to test if any changes match to an indicator of foot strength and control, which will be measured with a newly developed feedback device called “Archercise”. From this, we aim to see if we can detect any complications, such as nerve damage and loss of strength, early on. This can then potentially be the basis to start appropriate and preventative management measures such as specific exercises.
