Support over the break  

Some health and wellbeing services will be unavailable during the University closedown period between 5pm on Friday 20 December 2024 and 9am on Tuesday 7 January 2025. Find out what support is available.

Starting university is exciting, but adjusting to all of the changes can be challenging and even a little stressful. That's why we've got you covered, with services that can support your health and wellbeing, foster diversity and inclusion, or help out financially.

University Health Service

We offer experienced general practitioner and emergency medical care services on the Darlington Campus. The surgery is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm during the teaching year.

Wellbeing support and counselling

Access specialist input on a wide range of personal, academic, social and psychological issues that may impact your life.

If you are experiencing wellbeing concerns and would like to connect with somebody, the first step is to complete our registration form.

Safer communities

Safer Communities Office are specialist staff experienced in providing an immediate response to people that have experienced sexual misconduct, domestic/family violence, bullying/harassment and issues relating to modern slavery. They can provide case management and information about the services available and assist you to access the support you need.


Inclusion and disability

Students who have a disability can gain access to the adjustments and service they need to suceed in their studies.
