In previous years, SEIG has supported student-led projects like World Cup Night, Law Reform Project, Language Buddies, Therapaws: Dog therapy program, Sculpture by the Sea Coastal Walk, Australian Sporting Experience, World Mental Health Festival, Taronga Zoo Safari and more.
Before you begin, make sure you've read the 2026 semester 2 program guidelines carefully. The guidelines have essential information about the program including eligibility, timeline and commitments, grant assessment criteria, and terms and conditions. You may also want to look at past projects on the SEIG Canvas page, which can be a useful source of inspiration.
Read the 2026 Semester 2 Program Guidelines online.
To apply for SEIG, you'll need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). This short form helps you outline your project idea and begin developing your proposal.
After submitting your EOI, you will need to schedule a meeting with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Program Coordinator via Calendly. This meeting provides an opportunity to workshop your idea, discuss its feasibility, and receive guidance to strengthen your proposal.
To be considered by the Grants Committee, ensure that you have completed the following tasks before the relevant application deadline:
Following the relevant deadline, your EOI will be assessed by the Grants Committee. Successful applicants will be notified via email and invited to attend a training workshop to support the delivery of their project.
