ARCO4202: Archaeology Honours Thesis 2
2024 unit information
This unit involves completion and submission of an Honours thesis of 18,000 - 20,000 words in collaboration with a supervisor approved by the Honours Coordinator. At completion, students will be eligible to obtain membership in the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Inc. (AACAI), a professional organisation for which the full membership requirement is an honours or postgraduate degree in archaeology.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
- LO1. demonstrate initiative and originality in research in Archaeology
- LO2. present a logical and persuasive argument, opening up new directions for future research on the issues addressed
- LO3. apply appropriate theories and methodologies used in Archaeology to their research project
- LO4. carefully analyse and show detailed understanding of the body of evidence under study
- LO5. demonstrate detailed understanding of and, where appropriate, critically evaluate relevant scholarship
- LO6. use careful citations and provide an appropriately extensive list of references acknowledging existing research and listing primary materials used
- LO7. communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, in appropriate academic style
