FINC5003: Introduction to Fintech and its Applications

The unit covers the major technology developments that have disrupted the financial services industry and are opening new channels for businesses to interact with customers in the digital economy. After the introduction of the technologies, students review the applications of such technologies in areas of fintech such as blockchain, cryptocurrencies, peer-to-peer lending, robo-advisory, high-frequency trading, and crowdfunding.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
