This class covers improvisation techniques including identification of key centres, selection of appropriate scales and other melodic considerations, rhythmic considerations and accuracy of time and pitch. A list of set repertoire will be provided.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
- LO1. demonstrate a further understanding of the jazz repertoire examined during this unit of study
- LO2. apply these concepts to other pieces of jazz repertoire in their own jazz performance practice
- LO3. demonstrate understanding of more advanced jazz harmonic and rhythmic considerations through successful performance.
