Elsie Jean Dalyell is a highly distinguished University of Sydney graduate and was the first full-time female academic at the Sydney Medical School. After serving in World War I, Elsie conducted pioneering work in Vienna on childhood diseases.

As a Dalyell Scholar, you will complete distinctive Dalyell units of study with other high achievers and have access to the following enrichment opportunities.
You will be invited to become a Dalyell Scholar if you achieve an ATAR of 98 or above, apply for, and are offered a place in an eligible degree. If you are applying with a non-ATAR qualification, you will be invited if you achieve the equivalent in your qualification. After you have accepted your offer to the course, you’ll have the option to accept or decline your invitation become a Dalyell Scholars as part of the enrolment process.
If you are eligible for the following entry schemes, you’ll receive adjustment factors which can be used for entry into the Dalyell Scholars stream. If the combination of your ATAR (or ATAR-equivalent rank) and adjustment factors is a selection rank of 98 or above, you will be invited to become a Dalyell Scholar.

If the Dalyell Scholars stream is available in your course, you may be invited to join after your first year of study. Your eligibility for an invitation will be assessed against the eligibility criteria, once you've received your results. If eligible, you will automatically receive an invitation to join the stream with instructions on how to accept in Sydney Student.
Note: You can apply to the following degree that offers Dalyell Scholars units of study embedded within the course: B Engineering Honours (Dalyell Scholars) UAC 513571. If you do not achieve the 98 ATAR or selection rank for eligible entry schemes (or equivalent in an eligible non-ATAR qualification), you will not be made an offer to the course.
