The University of Sydney Visiting Researcher Program provides you with the exciting opportunity to add an international perspective to your education at an Australian university with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research. You can complete a research period of one or two years under the supervision of a University of Sydney academic staff member on a non-award basis.
You will receive an official University of Sydney academic transcript at the end of your study period to confirm that you were enrolled at the University of Sydney.
Specialisations are not applicable with non-award courses but most students will study units in areas that they are studying at their home institution when enrolled in semester and year-long programs.

Admission as a Visiting Researcher is assessed on an individual basis. You should complete the online application available through the "Apply" button on this page. You are NOT eligible for the Visiting Researcher Program if you are interested in studying for a full undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Sydney.
Discuss your research plans with your home university supervisor. Once you have approval, establish contact with an appropriate supervisor at the University of Sydney.
