About this program

A program in Life Sciences will allow you to investigate a multitude of life forms and their biochemical, molecular and genetic interactions – from viruses, bacteria and protozoans to fungi, plants and animals, including humans.

The program involves learning and understanding research in the life sciences from a range of interconnected disciplines including biochemistry, microbiology, molecular and cell biology, genetics and bioinformatics.

It also allows you to develop an additional level of expertise with dual choices of a disciplinary major(s) which suit students’ interest and an interdisciplinary capstone.

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is the study of structure, function and interactions of molecules in life on earth. 

Molecular biology is the study of the often complex interactions between biological molecules. 

Our Life Sciences program majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is suited for students who wish to understand and manipulate the molecular mechanisms that underlie all life, with applications ranging from medicine and health to plant sciences.
