Teaching area rules

First Teaching Area
A first teaching area in Arabic requires completion of a major or a minor from the Arabic Language and Cultures table of units of study.

Second Teaching Area
A second teaching area in Arabic requires 24 credit points of language units from the Arabic Language and Cultures table of units of study, comprising:
(i) a maximum of 12 credit points in 2000 level units of study in Arabic
(ii) a minimum of 12 credit points in 3000 level units of study in Arabic
If commencing at an introductory level in Arabic, a minor in Arabic and Language Cultures must be completed for accreditation in Arabic as a second teaching area.
For eligible units, please consult the tables of units of study for the subject areas of Arabic Language and Cultures (Intermediate) and Arabic Language and Cultures (Advanced) in this handbook. Availability of these units is subject to change.
