Teaching area rules

First Teaching Area
A first teaching area in Japanese requires completion of a major or a minor from the Japanese Studies table of units of study.

Second Teaching Area
A second teaching area in Japanese requires 24 credit points of language units from the Japanese Studies table of units of study, comprising:
(i) a maximum of 12 credit points in 2000 level units of study in Japanese
(ii) a minimum of 12 credit points in 3000 level units of study in Japanese
If commencing at an introductory level in Japanese, a minor in Japanese Studies must be completed for accreditation in Japanese as a second teaching area.
For eligible units, please consult the tables of units of study for the subject areas of Japanese Studies (Intermediate) and Japanese Studies (Advanced) in this handbook. Availability of these units is subject to change.
