Teaching area rules

First Teaching Area
A first teaching area in EALD requires completion of a major or a minor from the Linguistics table of units of study.
When completing a minor in Linguistics to satisfy a first teaching area in TESOL/EALD, the second teaching area must also be completed as a minor (36 credit points). 
Second Teaching Area
A second teaching area in EALD requires 24 credit points from the Linguistics table of units of study, comprising: 
(i) a maximum of 12 credit points in 1000 level LNGS-coded units of study
(ii) a minimum of 12 credit points in 2000 level LNGS-coded units of study 
Completion of EALD as a first or second teaching area requires completion of a minor in your other teaching area subject.
