Teaching area rules

First Teaching Area
A first teaching area in French requires completion of a major or a minor from the French and Francophone Studies table of units of study. 
Second Teaching Area
A second teaching area in French requires 24 credit points of language units from the French and Francophone Studies table of units of study, comprising:  
(i) a maximum of 12 credit points in 2000 level units of study in French 
(ii) a minimum of 12 credit points in 3000 level units of study in French 
If commencing at an introductory level in French, a minor in French and Francophone Studies must be completed for accreditation in French as a second teaching area. 
For eligible units, please consult the tables of units of study for the subject areas of French and Francophone Studies (Intermediate) and French and Francophone Studies (Advanced) in this handbook. Availability of these units is subject to change.
