Our current key transformation projects are:
A key focus of the University’s next era of strategic growth is Western Sydney.
Building on our already strong presence with the foundation disciplines of medicine and dentistry and our substantial research activity at Westmead, we will continue to work with the NSW Government and all of our partners in the precinct to develop, by 2030, a genuinely multidisciplinary campus with 6000 students – an increase of 4800 students from our current state – and a commensurate increase in our academic capacity.

It will be located at the University’s Camperdown Campus and the District’s Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital campus. The SBA will be located on the corner of Western Avenue and Cadigal Lane in Camperdown.
The SBA will be a collaborative world-class health, education and biomedical research and innovation complex that will integrate world-leading fundamental biomedical science with clinical research and innovation.
The proposed development includes public domain upgrades and landscaping surrounding the new building.
Construction will commence in Q2 2025 and is anticipated to complete in 2028, weather and industry conditions permitting.

The A01 Teaching and Learning Hub is a new building providing formal teaching spaces in a large, flat-floor format that enables flexible, collaborative, and larger-scale teaching.
The building also delivers much-needed informal learning space to enhance the student experience, along with a food and beverage outlet, a micro market, and student amenities.
Fronting Parramatta Road, Science Road, and Western Avenue on the Camperdown Campus, the project improves student experience and pedestrian safety while creating a revitalised gateway to the campus, building on the long-established pathways used by the Gadigal people along Parramatta Road.
Construction will commence in Q3 2026 and is anticipated to complete in Q2 2028, subject to weather and industry conditions.
